Privacy Policy

Glintup is a reading app. We collect the little that is needed to keep your reading in sync, and nothing more. We do not run ads, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- An anonymous account. The first time you open Glintup, we create an anonymous account so your reading progress, saved lines, and followed topics persist. It is not tied to your name or email unless you choose to sign in.
- Sign in with Apple (optional). If you sign in, Apple shares a name and an email, or a private relay email, so your account can move with you across devices. That is all we receive.
- Your reading activity. Which articles you open, where you left off, the lines you save to the Margin, and the topics you follow. This is used only to give you your own experience back.
- Device information. Basic technical details such as device type, app version, and operating system, to keep the app working and fix problems.
- Notification token (only if you opt in). If you turn on notifications, your device provides a token so we can send the one notification Glintup sends, when a story you follow moves. You can turn this off at any time.
How we use it
To run the app: to sync your reading, remember your place, deliver your daily edition, and send the notification you asked for. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
Who processes it
- Supabase, our database and authentication provider, stores your account and reading data on our behalf.
- Apple, if you use Sign in with Apple, and to deliver notifications.
- Razorpay, if you ever make a payment, processes the payment. Glintup does not see or store your card details.
These providers act as processors under our instruction. We do not share your data with anyone for their own marketing.
What we do not do
We do not show ads. We do not use third party advertising or analytics trackers. We do not sell or rent your personal information. No streaks, no engagement traps, no selling of attention.
Your choices
- Notifications. Turn them on or off in your profile, or in iOS Settings.
- Deletion. Email us and we will delete your account and the data tied to it.
Data retention
We keep your reading data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete it, we remove it.
Children
Glintup is a general audience reading app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for meaningful changes, let you know in the app.
